Anthony is a corporate lawyer. After over 30 years with Freshfields he joined Rothschild in 2006 as an Executive Vice Chairman. Among various roles, Anthony is Chairman of Bloomsbury Publishing plc and a Trustee of the Tate Foundation, Scott Trust (owner of the Guardian), Reprieve and Foundation for FutureLondon. He also chairs Teach First’s Business Leaders Council. Previous roles include Vice Chairman of the BBC Board of Governors, a member of the Board of the Department for Education and a Trustee of the Royal Opera House. He has chaired reviews on Youth Crime and Antisocial Behaviour, Press Regulation and Barclays PLC’s Business Practices. He is a Governor of the Wellington Academy Trust.
