Neera Burra, a sociologist, has a Ph.D. from the Delhi School of Economics. The focus of her work has been on issues related to gender, education, poverty and issues of marginalization and exclusion. She has published extensively on a number of issues. Her most recent book is “A Memoir of pre-Partition Punjab. Ruchi Ram Sahni 1863-1948” published by Oxford University Press in June 2017, which is an annotated autobiography of her great grandfather with an introduction about her journey of discovery.
